Here’s a great video from 1953 in which Les Paul - along with his wife, Mary Ford - explains how his invention of multi-track recording works to Allistair Cooke. It’s also wonderful as Paul uses his namesake guitar to demonstrate just what an amazing musician he is. I think it’s pretty hard to overstate Paul’s influence on modern music and recording. People may credit others for inventing Rock N Roll, but the way we know it today way was started by Les Paul. (via BoingBoing)
“You were always nearby” This stunning live performance art piece by a young Ukranian artist absolutely blew me away. This has been making the rounds today on the Internet, but if you can spare a few minutes you’ll be wishing that people on America’s Got Talent or American Idol really had this kind of amazing talent.

Really amazing amazing demonstration of human pattern recognition and the patterns in music. (via BoingBoing)
